July 2005

Just something for you, my darlin! :)

This is an old pic..no particular reason for putting it up, except to test the new “Images Upload” function by dear blogger. Seems like it’s really useful now that I don’t need to upload those pic to an online gallery before using them. I guess blogger must had come up with a huge server to host all these pics. ;)
Anyway, I guess this function is really useful especially when you wanna post any pic impromtu. Photo Bucket is a great way to archive your pics tho. Heh..

Oh My! I dreamt of Bae Yong Jun! It happened 8 odd hours ago and I’m still swooning over him. Gosh! I don’t wanna wake up! heee..I actually dreamt that we knew each other from work and he was an employee posted to Singapore from Korea. Haha..How imaginative. And miraculously, I could speak Korean so I inevitably became his very good friend at work. And we were such close friends that I was calling him “YongJun”! Hahaha..

In the dream, he was this soft-spoken reporter in his usual trademark specs and always wearing a smile on his face. He’s so cute yet charming. We even cooked our meals together and I was so worried cos I couldn’t make Kim Chi, which is the most staple of Korean. In the end, I bought him some Prawn Noodle Soup. How unglam! haha…. At one point, I think our relationship kinda developed into more of a partner relationship. Haha… Oh..darlin Hin better don’t read about it! Haha.. He’s so sweet and the usual ultra gentleman that I will imagine him to be. We spent lotsa of time talking to each other and as far as I remember, just smiling to each other! And then……I WOKE UP! :( I need to go to the toilet! Darn..I must had drank too much water before I slept and I had to excuse myself from the dream at 4am! :( How disappointing!
I tried to went back to sleep and I again dream that I was in Korea but no more Bae! No more Yong Jun! I missed him!
Alright, enough of my silly Bae dream! Hey I didn’t fantrasize him or what alright, it’s just very pure innocent love. Just like those we’ve seen in Korean Drama. Love that developed slowly and gradually. How sweet! :D Hmm..I’m actually smiling to myself when I think of the dream.

On a side note, I had a very bad headache last night and was feeling very cold and shivering. Perharps that’s the reason for me having a Korean related dream. I don’t know why but since my Korea trip with sis in Dec 2003, I always have dream about Korea whenever I feel cold. I guess that trip kinda filled me up with a lot of fond memories, abeit the cold weather. And reading up Lifei’s blog on Bae certainly made me dream of him even more! heee.. Nonetheless, it’s a very nice and fulfilling dream.

I wish I could have more of this kinda dream. hehe. :) Bae’s so sweet… Alright, alright, enough of him.

I’ve shamlessly ripped this pic from Lifei’s site. Hee..and I know she won’t mind. Right? Lifei? We share our love for Bae! And looking at the pic above.. I wonder if he was dreaming about me too?! Hahaha.. I wish! hahah…

Something interesting! :)

Me!
Hmm… So I’m abit Korean/Japanese?! hahha…

darlin!
Hmmm..That is darlin’s analysis! hehe..

Try this here!

That’s how much I’ve travelled and it’s only 3% of the world! Haha..I must travel more!

And that’s how much my darlin had travelled! It’s 4% of the world..hmmm…
create your own visited country map

Darlin and I had actually made a pact to go travelling once a year or so after getting married and settling down. I thought that’s a good idea. We hope to at least conquer Europe before we hit 30. Possible? Yes! Of course it is. :)

I’ve totally lost track of time. Been slacking the whole of my vacation and before I knew it, next Monday marks the first day of the new semester.
Apart from the 10 days trip I had with darlin Hin, I didn’t seem to accomplished alot this vacation. Way befoore the last semester ends, I had made plan to do some craft works, cook some really delicious and innovation meal, re-arrange my stuff, read a few books and heaps more. Very unfortunately, those mentioned seems totally unrealistic come the real vacation. I did nothing more then lazing around and yea, I did cook, but some really basic stuff that I really can’t brand them innovative. Been wanting to read up on some of the books that were recommended but being the usual half-hearted me, I refuse to pay for a book which I have absolutely no confidence of finishing.
I had wanted to get some new clothes but I’m on an extremely tight budget after making a huge mistake on my bank account. Had locked all my money into the fixed deposit before I realised that there wasn’t enough fund in my savings account to pay my school fees. Hence, I had to scrimp and be totally aware of what I am spending on these few months before my FD mature. I knew my mum will gladly spend me the much needed fund I need (not without heaps of nags of cos!) but I felt that I shouldn’t ask her for it since it’s totally my fault for not keeping tab on my account. Nonetheless, an upside is that at least, the money is locked safety in my FD and this will prevent me from over-spending. Anyway, should I have to resort to digging out my coins, I know I have my darlin Hin to relies on. So, no worries mate! ;)
Temperature’s been quite okay this few days. Might be we had grown used to it. We did not on the heater this winter so that we can save some money on the electricity. The cost of electricity here can kill! :( Luckily, we have our trusty blankets with us thru the winter. I kinda prefer winter over summer as everyone knows, we can wear more during winter but not just derobing come summer. I simply can’t stand the heat and having to stay under the 42 deg sun. Thankfully, that’s when we will head home. Yes, back to windy Singapore in December.
I really missed my family. Dad’s still in China working and only back in Singapore occasionally, I sure miss him. But of cos, I didn’t tell him. Dad is not the kinda dad that will show his feeling and affection openly. Hmm.. bad bad flooding in Fuzhuo now, I prayed that he’s alright.
On the other side, I tell my dearest mum and sis that I missed them everytime I called. I’m glad that I have a very close relationship with both my mum and sis. Sometimes, I feel bad for not being around with my sis, especially during this phrase of her life when she needs me most. The usual advice on relationship, having crushes on her school mates and shopping and fashion tips. I love bringing her out but it seems that it been quite impossible the past few years. I’ve been busy with work and she’s always busy with school activities and her Os. I really will catch up with her once I grad. She can be quite a brat sometimes but I love her alot. Afterall, she’s my only baby sis. ;) I would give her all I could. *Tian, jeje loves u ok?*
Hmm..been wanting to blog just a paragraph but ended up typing so much. Gawd, I really have alot to say. Anyway, school’s starting soon. New modules, new challenges and new faces. Hopefully all will go well for me. Wish me luck! Lots of luck!

After a couple of Naproxen Sodium Tablets, I’m feeling so much better. Had severe back pain last night and couldn’t sleep well. Thankfully, darlin was very nice and kind enough to get me the tablets from the pharmacy this morning, Muackz darlin! HUGZ! :)

Was feeling even better after using the TRESemme Smoothing Serum just now. Saw the ad for the hair product on the tv a couple fo days ago and had been wanting to try it. It was MARVELLOUS! Oh my! I seriously recommend it to every girl, especially those who wants healthy and shiny hair! It’s really awesome and big PLUS point is that it’s not expensive! So girls, those who are in Australia especially, try it! :)

I couldn’t stop touching my hair! hee!

I have faith that you can have them somedays, dalrin! :)

Nice Cars!
Ok, I know there’s a mistake in the “owned”, it should be “own” instead. Haha..I’m too lazy to edit it! :P

Another day closer to the end of vacation! 2 more weeks and it’s gonna be the start of new term. Well, I should be excited about the term term as I always would be but I’m having mixed feeling about this new semester. Perharps it’s caused by my grades this semester. I’ve not done really up to my own expectation though I’ve put in considerable effort this semester. Very disappointing especially when you thought everything was going well and not to mention, a drop in my average GPA made me shudders even more. I started to wonder if my studying method is correct or school is getting harder for me. Or, am I just getting dumber??

Before I came over, I had heaps of people telling me that coming to Australia to studying is easy and you need minimal effort to pass your modules. I BEGGED TO DIFFER. Unless you are in some “cannot make it” university, you simply would not pass just by reading thru before the notes before exam. Darlin had some friends who are enrolled in some other uni in other parts of Australia. The friend actually sent us some sample of his/his friend’s assignment for us to take a look. I can’t believe the paper can be awarded a pass based on the quality of work submitted.

I am not sure about other uni but University of Queensland, the school which I go to, seems to have a pretty different standard. Perharps it’s a big change from Poly and my semester one that made me feel this way. For my assignments, I’ve followed all instruction closely and had even done a fair bit of research but in the end, what I’ve gotten is really terrible. Just a few marks above the passing grade, I kinda think it’s not fair. And for my exam, I sweared the answered that I had wrtten certainly deserved a credit but what I’ve gotten is just a pass. What a disappointment?! Just an advice for whoever’s coming to Australia for studying. Do not be influenced too much by people who said that studying over here is an easy feat. I don’t really know about other faculties but Business Studies don’t really seems as easy as everyone perceived. But again, that’s based on my own opinion. It sure is more relaxing but not to the extent that you can play and go surfing everyday alright. Lots of people had the wrong idea! You still have tons of other stuffs to care about. The housework, bills, cooking and basically all other stuffs that you are oblivious to when you are back in Singapore.

Talking about assignments, essay is not just about writing what you think, it’s about your opinion and understanding of what others’ had been doing. It’s not as easy as just writing what’s in your head, rather you are marked on how critical you evaluate other’s work. Overseas uni seems to emphasize alot of “thinking out of the box”, does the local uni in Singapore do that? Memorizing the facts just won’t to. You have to read widely and be able to debate your points eloquently. Perharps that’s what Singaporeans lacked of. Just give them some topics to talked about and the local students here can talked about it relentlessly. Well, sometimes there are a few who really don;t what they were talking about but majority of them can talk really well. Just look at the daily news, you can just interviewed anyone on the streets and they can practically be a stand in for the reporter.

Alright, I guess I will be getting no where if I kept talking in this subject on and on. Anyway, shall blog more tomorrow. ;)

Interesting little quiz, you can take it too! :)
Seems to be 95% accurate for me, how about you? Tell me about your result!

Your Marriage

How will you choose your Mr Right?

You will make the most of being able to shop around for Mr Right. You love your freedom and will have a lot of fun learning about what sort of man you like. When you do find the guy for you, nobody will be able to keep you away from the church.

Who will be your future Mr Right?
Your future hubby will be lovely and sweet, but a little immature - possibly even a spoilt brat! This guy will trigger your maternal instinct. You’ll always be willing to watch his back and clean up his mess. He might be the same age as you are or even younger.

When will you get married?
As soon as you fall in love, you’ll want to grab your man and hang on to him. You will probably marry very young, so it would be wise of you to think carefully before committing.

What sort of wife will you be?
You are a bit tricky. You might pretend to be a sensitive and caring wife in his eyes, but you’ll be ready to laugh at him behind his back and eventually you may even leave him for another man.

Will you and your husband have a good time together?
You and your hubby will enjoy each other’s company playing games until you’re old. Whether you play tennis, golf, swim or even just go driving out of town, you’ll both stay healthy and happy.

What will your children be like?
Your kids will be quiet and won’t give you a hard time - they’ll be a joy to have around. However, you should teach them to be stronger and more confident in themselves. Otherwise they might grow up to be losers.

How loyal are you?
You get along very well with most guys. Sometimes your friendliness misleads others to think that you’re a bit of a flirt, but actually you’ve got a loyal heart. You’ll never have eyes for anyone except your beloved husband.

Half the winter hols are gone! Been lazing around at home with darlin. Haha..I kinda enjoy this lifestyle. Still cold over here but not freezing anymore. Might be that we had already grown used to the winter here or Australia is getting warmer. Temperature’s ranging from 10 deg to 21.8 deg and though it can be really cold at night, it’s still bearable in the day.
The suburb where we’ve been living is very quiet now that msot of the students had either graduated or went home for hols. I missed home. :( With nothing better to do, I tried cooking at home and amusing myself with darlin’s joke. haha… I wanna tried baking but haf-hearted me usualy gave up after a failing attempt. I figure it’s gonna cost us lesser if we jsut buy the readily baked products from the local supermarket.
There’s heaps of photographs taken during our trip but I’m somewhat lazy to sort them up and do some collage. I guess I’m only gonna regret not doing anything by the time school reopens. I shall start today.
Alright, nothing much to blog. Getting hungry.. I shall fix lunch, bathe and get darlin to drive me out to get some stuff! I’ve got to send my buddy Kaihui’s a birthday card. :)
Shall blog more later.

10th Day
Last day of our little honey moon trip! :) We woke up early and checked out. We reckon that should we be back in future, we will still come back to this hotel. :) Great staff, great room and great rate. We to the airport, which was easy which the helpful signs on the road and returned the rented car.

Waited an hour for our flight and we were on. To helped us save money, we actually chose a longer flight. We had to do a transit in Sydney, then back to Brisbane.

We were back in brisbane after an 7 hr ++ flight! haha..that’s enough to get us back to Singapore already but, well, every moment spent with darlin is good and quality time. :)

Now, I’ve gotto really packed my bags! I hate unpacking bags big time! :( Darlin had done his but not me.. :( Darlin gonna to nag at me, I better start!

9th Day
Woke up early for the Salamanca Market. It’s only open on Saturday from 8.30am to 3pm. There’s alot of stalls selling crafts and food stuff. We got ourselves some hot nibbles and walked around the market. It’s not really big so we managed to complete the whole market in 2 hours. I bought a de-stress bean pouch, some odds here and there. Darlin bought a small wooden ship that was really nice.

We decided to venture up Mount Wellington today since the sky looks clear. We can at least see the peak of the mountain from the bottom hence we reckon we should be quite safe going up. It’s a long drive up but darlinw as more confident this time round since he had already conquer more than half of the mountain the day before. We stopped by half way and took some pictures. Gosh it was cold albeit the hot sun! Darlin and I couldn’t say a word we we were stammering. We decided to get back into the car and darlin promptly on the heater for me. :) We reached the peak after driving for a furter few km. This is killing! It’s so cold and I could carely stand still. We took some pictures which was really really nice. See the template I am using now. The picture above is actually taken on top of Mount Wellington. Awesome isn’t it. I’m gonna publish more pictures later on.

maybe it’s due to the thin air and lack of oxygen. I soon felt tired and restless. We decided to head back to town to get something hot for our tummy. The cold kinda made me hungry much faster. We went to coles, got ourselves a roasted chickent and some instant udon soup.

We ahd a hearty lunch and napped. We were really tired and decided that we shall cosy up in the room instead. Haha..Lazy couple! :P
Chillin' Tassie!

8th Day
Went to the Cadbury Chocolate Factory in the morning and was there slightly after 11. Paid $12.50 AUD each for the entrance fees and the complimentary factory tour. We were really excited about stepping into the land of chocolate. :) The safety standard in the factory was rather strict. We had to remove any piece of jewelly, wore a “hat” and for guys, they have to wear a “half-mask” to prevent their moustache from falling into the choco. I certainly won’t mind finding one or two gem(jewel.) inside my chococ but NOT bristles or hairs ok.. haha.

The whole factory smell of chocolate andwe get to tried all the chocolate we want when we are inside. By that, I don’t mean that you can just snatch them from the conveyer belt and pop them into your mouth. The staff would actually offerd them we we proceed along. You can really help yourself to it. Darlin and I were really happy and ate alot during the first leg of the tour. But we got quite sick of them eventually and didn’t really wanna touch anymore of the choco. The children in the group were of course too happy to reject any chocolate. Some of the people in the group can really eat! Oh man.. I wonder if they lived on chocolate.

After the tour, we bought some chocolate for our friend, Gengxing, who had very very kindly woke up early and drove us to the transit center at 5am on the first day. We also bought our Hotel Manager, Issac some after dinner chocolate mint. It’s really a small gift to show our gratitude. He had been really kind and helpful to us. Showing us the very perfect direction to where ever we had wanted to go.

I really love the way the factory work. So timely and so efficiently. I would love to take pictures but they aren’t allowed. But it’s really worth while to visit the factory if you are in Tasmania.

After the tour, we decided to drive up Mount Wellingotn. It’s still raining and foggy but we wanted to try our luck. Hobart itself is at the foot of Mount Wellington. It’s 1270m above sea level and you can virtually see the mountain from any part of Hobart. We drove for nearly 17 km when we have to stop completely. Darlin had drove really really slowly up the winding mountain as it was raining heavily but we stopped at this point. We knew that we are just a few km aqway fromt he peak but it’s so foggy that we can barely see what’s 5m away from us! the wind was howling strongly and the rain got heavier. I was kinda worried actually but I don’t wanna freaked darlin out. I just tried to remain really calm and quiet so that darlin could concentrate down the mountain. What was most dangerous is that darlin had to make a 3 point turn on the mountain albeit the strong fog. There were heaps of humongous Luckily we make it down the mountain safe and sound.

Since it was a rather wet day, we’ve decided to head back to the hotel to take a rest. Hee…It’s really ncie to cosy up in a warm room when it’s cold outside! :)

(Sydney/Hobart)
7th Day
Checked out of Sydney YHA pretty early and proceed to the airport for our flight to Tasmania. Flight was delayed for nearly 2 hours due to heavy rain on the runway. We bought ourselves some breakkie from Mcdonald and waited patiently for the flight. I hate flight getting delayed. It’s such a waste of time.. :(
Soon, it was time to board. There wasn’t many people going to Tasmania (Hobart) though. the plane is just about 75% full. Touched down in Tassie and Hobart International airport is pretty small compared to the others. It reminds me of someone’s private runway rather then a public one. I guess, at any one time, only one flight can take off. Tassie is much colder then other state and it was approx 12 deg when we touched down at noon. Took a cab to Leisure Inn Waterfront lodge. It’s located out of town and cost us $31.80 to reach there.

We wasn’t too fond of this motel initially as it was pretty far from the city. But the moment we checked into room, we fell in love with that place. It was really nice and warm. We decided to rent a car thought. It’s virtually impossible to get around Hobart with driving. Thrifty Rental delivered the Nissan Pulsar and soon we were on our way to explore Hobart.

We drove around city and the shops. The city is pretty small compare to other states but still bustling with activities. We drove to the country sides. It was really ncie to see the cows and sheeps on the field and there wasn’t many cars around.

Headed back to our room before the night falls. We are afraid of losing our way cos the roads were pretty dim. Went over to the supermarket o buy some stuff to heat up for dinner too.

Watched tv and slept. Was a pretty long and tiring day for us…
